For over 40 years Tournament Day has been the South Coast Chapter’s signature fundraiser. Going back to the 1970’s, these early events were Tennis Tournaments held at various tennis facilities throughout the Orange County area. Over the past four decades, Tournament Day has shifted geographically (from Rossmoor/Seal Beach to Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Long Beach) as well as thematically (from Tennis Tournaments to Golf Tournaments to theme-oriented galas) Amidst these many shifts, the constant has been South Coast Chapter’s decades long commitment to raising funds for local philanthropies and scholarships for young women in need. This is a proud history we collectively celebrate today.
The South Coast Chapter held the 42nd Annual Tournament Day at The Grand in Long Beach. This year’s theme Moroccan Madness, lent an air of sophistication and fun to the annual event as over 400 guest mingled and meandered through the brightly decorated rooms perusing over 300 silent auction items and participating in an opportunity drawing and games. The theme, Moroccan Madness, was chosen by the Ticktockers; what better way to celebrate this Mother-Daughter Organization than by including our daughters in the creative process? This was the first year Tournament Day and the annual Senior Ticktocker Fashion Show were held together and by all accounts it was a great success.
The money raised at Tournament Day is used to fund The South Coast Chapter’s scholarship program and area philanthropies. To make a tax-deductible donation or sponsor the 2016 Tournament Day, please contact, Cecilia Killeen at email@example.com
